Axiom or Theorem?

I find it hard to believe that The axiom was proposed by Pappus (3rd century). I believe that Pappus enunciated it as a theorem of (Euclidean) geometry, and Heath's "History of Greek Mathematics" does not suggest otherwise. Richard Pinch (talk) 22:21, 18 March 2018 (CET)
