Nerve of a family of sets

$\alpha$

The simplicial complex $K(\alpha)$ with as simplices the finite non-empty subsets of $\alpha$ with non-empty intersection. In particular, the vertices of $K(\alpha)$ are the non-empty elements of $\alpha$.
