Laguerre functions

Functions that are solutions of the equation

are arbitrary parameters. Laguerre functions can be expressed in terms of the degenerate hypergeometric function or in terms of Whittaker functions. For 
the solutions of equation (*) are called Laguerre polynomials. The function
